Εικαστικός κατάλογος των καλλιτεχνών που έλαβαν μέρος στο πολιτιστικό γεγονός ‘ΑΝΟΙΧΤΑ ΕΡΓΑΣΤΗΡΙΑ ΕΝΤΟΣ ΤΩΝ ΤΕΙΧΩΝ ΛΕΥΚΩΣΙΑΣ 2011’. Στο γεγονός αυτό λαμβάνουν μέρος καλλιτέχνες που δραστηριοποιούνται στην παλιά πόλη της Λευκωσίας, κατά το οποίο ανοίγουν τα εργαστήρια τους, για να παρουσιάσουν τη δουλειά τους στο κοινό. Ο Σάββας Κουρέας, παρουσίασε την δουλειά του στην αίθουσα ‘Ειρήνη’ στο τέρμα της οδού Λήδρας και προσέφερε τις υπηρεσίες του ως ο γενικός οργανωτικός υπεύθυνος του γεγονότος.
Catalogue of the artists participated at the cultural event ‘OPEN STUDIOS WITHIN THE WALLS OF NICOSIA 2011’. During the event, the artists of the old town of Lefkosia opened their studios to present their work to the public. Savvas Koureas, presented his work at the ‘Peace’ hall, at the end of Ledra street and offered his services as the general project manager of the event.
Prologue
It is surprising how hospitality, one of the earliest habits of the citizens of Cyprus, is not only still alive today but it is also reflected in the philosophy of the artists of the heart of the capital.
The historic part of Nicosia, one of the major centers of multicultural dialogue of the Mediterranean, is described by the spirit of the artistic creation. Within the actual Venetian walls many artists have been hosted, inspired, created and exhibited their works.
The ‘Open Studios’ action is a way of expression on behalf of the artists. It is also a means of strengthening the intercultural dialogue between them and the artistic world, as well as between art lovers and the general public.
The opening of the artists’ ateliers calls for an active participation of citizens in the artistic life of the city.
In the city of the eleven bastions, nineteen studios of twenty two artists are open to the public, presenting thousands pieces of art and share millions of ideas, dreams and inspirations. That’s why, this project has become a challenge for me to serve, and also an opportunity for everyone to get involved.
